Bond Between Brothers & Twilight Tuesday Sketch

This week the good people at Twilight Tuesday asked us to create something that showed a bond between brothers. The inspiration comes from the Quileute wolf pack. So I used this week's sketch TTSC12 and the wolf stamp from Artful Inkables to create this card. I colored the large wolf reddish brown for Jacob, then he has his second in command, Leah who is a light grey and his 3rd in command, Seth who is a sandy color. The background paper I created myself using tan paper and some brown acrylic paint. I wanted a rustic look, so I just brushed it on randomly and roughly.

Twilight Inspiration Tuesday - Mary Alice Brandon (Cullen)

For today's Twilight Tuesday Inspiration Challenge, we were asked to create something that was inspired by Alice Cullen's former life (before she became a vampire). Back then, her name was Mary Alice Brandon. I decided to use the sketch from Spoon Full of Sugar. I found this lovely sketch of Alice through google. I love how her eyes are copper colored and the rest of the photo is black and white. It is hard to tell from these pics though. I chose the sentiment "eternally beautiful" because even before she was a vampire, she was beautiful, but after she became one, she was "eternally" beautiful. The lace was purchased at the thrift store! I got a ton of assorted colors for just a couple of dollars.

I created this lovely word art to go along with the card. You can download it here.

We are also supposed to talk about Alice's "gift" and whether we think it is a blessing or curse. This is very difficult to decide. I would have to say that in her situation it is definatly a blessing since it has gotten her and her family out of some very sticky situations many times. So to be able to foresee the future and potentially protect the ones that I love, I would say it is a blessing.

Halloween Card Using Dustin Pike's SVG Freebie

Sorry for the less than stellar photos. My camera is about to give up on me. I'm planning to get a new one around Christmas time. So just bare with me! Here is a card I made using the Pumpkin freebie svg that I got from Dustin Pike. I think he turned out so cute!
I made this card using this week's sketch from Sketch and Stash.
I also participated in the La-La Land Crafts Challenge this week, which was to simply "embellish" your card. so I added this cute little flower that I made! Then the Charisma Cardz Challenge this week was "flower power". So it fit just right with the sketch and other challenges! I also did the Papertake Weekly Challenge which was to "fake-it". It said you could use fake stitching, flowers, ribbon or whatever. Well I do that nearly everytime I make a card. So the fake part of this one is the flower!

Unleash Your Inner Goddess!

Here is a card I created to go along with yesterday's challenge in 365 cards. The challenge was called "One, two, buckle my shoe..." We were supposed to create something with a shoe on it. I cut the high heel shoe out using SCAL and my Cricut. Stay tuned, it may be next Thursday's freebie! But for now, if you'd like to download the sentiment that I created as WordArt, you can get it here.

Twilight Tuesday -- Motorcycle Challenge

Hi folks! Thanks to a fellow blogger, I've discovered a new "fix" for my Twilight obsession! I should have known that a site like Twilight Tuesday would exsist, but I had never before heard of it until someone left a comment about the site on my blog! Thank you!

Now I can get my weekly dose of Twilight and some crafty goodness to go with it. So here is my first challenge. I was supposed to create something inspired by Jacob, Bella, their motorcycles & friendship. I even used Jacob's handwriting font from the books for the sentiment. You can get it here. I used the sketch from Stamptacular Sunday Challenge as well. So here it is!

Happy Birthday Champ!

I created this card for a little boy's birthday party that we went to Saturday night. I think the colors came out so cute! The baseball is a free svg file from The Frugal Crafter. The stamp is little Ian from the Greeting Farm.

I then created this little bit of word art to go on the inside.

Week 6 of the DIgi Freebie Search!

It's week 6 of the digi freebie search with the Lindsay's Stamp Stuff DT! Here is a card that I created for my SIL who is about to have a baby in a couple of days. I used Lindsay's Doodle Aster stamp. It is only $1.00!

This fabulous sentiment is word art that I snagged for free from Elegant Word Art by Bethany. I just found her blog the other day and I've spent a lot of time thumbing through it snagging a lot of her freebies. I'm still not through! She has tons of great sentiments arranged as word art that are great for cards and scrapbooking!

Once again, Lindsay has designed a special stamp for one of us on the design team. On Thursdays, one lucky DT member will have her special stamp available to download free for a whole week. Click on the links below to check out the cool Design Team Blogs and see who has the free stamp this week!

Cards, Cards Cards!

Here is a card that I made using a freebie Digi Stamp from Dustin Pike. The caption says "Like a Kite, You Lift Me Up." I kinda borrowed and rephrased the caption from someone else's card using this image. I loved it! The swirly background gives it a look of the sky. I used a q-tip and some blue chalk and swirled it around. The dew drops are made from hot glue that is painted with pink pearl nail polish. Once again, this was an idea that I got from Lindsay. Man that girl is talented!

This is an image I found through google. It is supposed to be a coloring page, but I used it as a digi stamp. The caption is 3-D.

On both of these cards I used one-sided patterned paper and glued them back to back to create the effect of double sided paper. Thanks again Lindsay for the great idea!

A Funny Mother's Day Card

Well I wanted to make a mother's day card, but not the traditional kind. I wanted something funny and witty. I looked at this little girl forever and searched quotes online until finally as I had given up, this one just popped into my head.

I also used Lindsay's technique of creating your own double sided paper. It turned out quite nice. I really like the effect.
