Dinosaur Party Favors + 4 Freebies!

Hello everyone, you better hold on to your hats, this is a long post! It's Thursday and I'm so excited to share my project with you this week! Yesterday was my son's 4th birthday and tonight we're having his party! He loves dinosaurs, so I used that as my theme! Remember that cute little TRex SVG I made a while back? Well I decided to turn him into a digi stamp (you can snag him below).
Then I used Lindsay's Fun Fair SVG template to make the popcorn box to hold all the goodies. Well, i thought it needed a handle, so I used Lindsay's ticket strip svg as a template, but I didn't cut it on my cricut I used the printable template. I also created my own "Admit One" ticket digi stamp to overlay on the ticket strip. I copied and pasted the ticket digi stamp over each ticket on the strip, then printed and hand cut! So easy and it makes the handle look so cool! I made 10 of these in no time at all!

This project qualifies for the following challenges: Cowgirl Sunday (Anything Goes), Crafty Ann's (Anything but a card), Gingersnap Creations (Punches), Karber Weekly (Go Digital), Stamp, Scrap & Doodle (Open Challenge), Stamp-n-Doodle (Anything Goes) and Sweet Stampin (Punch it out).

Here is the Fun Fair SVG templates. They are just 3.00 folks! You get a tapered popcorn box, a strip of tickets with perferations that you can weld end to end to make a roll and a single ticket that you can resize to fit your need and even resize to match any ticket runner stamps you own, just think of the possibilities! Also you get a prize ribbon layered die cut, you can cut all the shapes form solid cardstock or mix and match with diffrent colors and patterns for a funky look. There is so many ways you can use this set! Cut these designs with your Cricut Machine and Sure Cuts a Lot (scal) or Make the Cut (MTC) software or use the printable tempates and cut them by hand like I did!

I also had to make these cute little test tube candy holders to in each favor bag (10 total). One child that will be coming to the party has several food allergies, so I made him one with Smarties inside! I wasn't sure if Skittles were safe or not, but I knew he could have smarties.

Thanks for stopping by, now head on over to Lindsay's blog for a freebie and to check out the work by the rest of the DT! Before you go, don't forget to grab your freebies below! (Right-click to save)

A Layout + Bear Freebie

Welcome to Thursday's LSS project! This week I felt the need to get some scrappin' done. So I chose a couple of photos of my son and his PaPaw (my dad). They are inseparable. I just had to dedicate a page to them. And what better way to do it than to use Lindsay's Stick People Set? I mixed and matched the heads and bodies to create two cute little guys who look a lot like my son and my dad.

I paper pieced the clothing on by printing the image more than once onto different patterened papers and cutting out the clothes. This makes the LO qualify for the challenge at Scrap & Stamp which required a stamp and paper piecing. The LO also qualifies for the challenge at Practical Scrappers which required that you have either the word "One" or the number one on the LO.  And finally, I used the sketch this week at Sketch Inspiration.

Now for your freebie! A cute little bear. Below you can download the svg file and save the digi stamp version as well.

I'm Nuts about you --Birthday Card for my Husband

My husband as some of you may know is going through the Kentucky State Trooper academy. He's just finishing up week 7. He is gone from sunday-friday and he's only home for about 40 hours on the weekend. His birthday is this weekend, so I made him a little card. I used a digi freebie from Dustin Pike. You can snag it here. I created by own digital sentiment which you can download here if you like.

I wanna be a Rock Star

Here is a LO I did for 52 Sketches, 52 Weeks. I decided to scrap the pictures of my son at christmas last year. He recieved a drum set. Yay! Thanks Uncle Wes! (insert sarcasm here).

This layout sort of evolved slowly as I worked on it. I started by searching my stash of paper and realized that I didn't have anything appropriate for what I wanted to create. So I set out on google to find something printable and I found this awesome Rocker background. I printed it out and used it as the backdrop for the pics. Then I decided to create my own title. So I used some basic font and a few flourishes, welded them together and wha-lah! You can snag your freebie down blow. I also created the scalloped border you see at the right of the layout. You can download it here. Rock Star Title SVG
I wanted the title to look like a chandellier, so I used a bunch of gems to create this effect.

Font: Rage Italic Journal Frame $1.00

Guitar Stamp $1.00

This is a first for me. I created my own "bling flourish" by using glossy black dimensional paint. I printed out the image on white paper, then I used some clear plastic (left over from some sticker packaging) to create this. You can see the tutorial here. In this photo you can see the plastic, but when I put it in a scrapbook protective cover, you won't be able to tell! BTW, I did this one yesterday and let it dry overnight. So if you just want to play around with the idea, you could make a few and then put them aside for later. That way when you go to create a LO, they are already dry!
Ok...and don't forget to check out Lindsay's blog for her Halloween digi stamp freebie and to see what the other DT members have created! You won't be disappointed!
Freebie Thursday!
In addition to the files that I've shared above, I wanted to give you this stiletto shoe svg. Remember that cute little high heel shoe that I created a card for the other day? Well here it is...yours to download and use! If you missed the post about the shoe card, click here to see it. High Heel Shoe SVG Freebie

Lindsay's Stamp Stuff Day!

Well it's Thursday, so you know what that means! It's time for LSS! She has released yet another awesome set of stamps! It is very creepy, gothic and edgy and of course I love them! It is the Creepy Crow Set available for only $5.00! Perfect for a spooky halloween card! Check out Lindsay's blog to get a freebie from this set today!

Here is a card that I created using the Creepy Crow ATC from the set. It was so fun to color! I also used a piece from LSS Elegant Card Kit in off white. I printed it on tan paper and then folded to make my card. You can find it here for only $2.00! The sentiment under the image is also part of the set. Makes putting the card together a "no-brainer". If you can't tell, I've already decorated my house in halloween decor, so I used that as my backdrop. haha.
Also new to LSS, she has created these one-of-a-kind Cupcake wrappers. This is a first for me! I've never seen anything like them before! Perfect for any party! Here you get a set of birthday cupcake wrappers to print color and cut out and a blank tempate that you can print on pretty paper and cut out. You could aso print it on cardstock and embellish with traditional rubber stamps, how fun is that! You get them both for only a buck! Assembly is super easy, just cut them out, put glue on the flap and glue to the back of the opposite end to form a cone. The cupcake will fit neatly inside. You get 3 wrappers from each sheet of paper!

Ok, now for my project this week! I finally got around to scrapping my Halloween pics from last year. I was Cruella DeVille and my son was a dalmation puppy. I used the Spiderweb Border SVG freebie that I made. I used 3 stamps from LSS. I used Harry the Spider, Spooky Pumpkins and Halloween Journal. I used last week's sketch from Crafts by Rowena.

Here is a close up of the journalling. I used LSS's Halloween Journal block and then used individual text boxes to put the words on each line perfectly. I used Edward's handwriting from Twilight. It was a freebie, you can find here.

**Freebie Thursday will be posted later today!

LSS & Freebie Thursday!

Hey there everyone! It's my favorite day of the week! LSS release day! I am so in love with this new set of stamps that Lindsay has just released! It is a coffee/java stamp set! This is just one little stamp and sentiment from an awesome 9 stamp set for just $5.00! I just have to mention first of all why I love this set so much more than any of her previous stamps. I love her other stamps of course, but this is the first time Lindsay has included sentiments! I can not tell you how much time it saves me and how much easier it is when the sentiment is there and ready to print. No thinking required! I am notorious for spending more time trying to come up with a cute sentiment than actually making the card. This card only took 15 minutes! I think a lot of our DT members have used it this week in their projects as well, so don't forget to check them out! Also, Lindsay is giving away a freebie from the set on her blog!
So this week Lindsay's DT decided to play along over at Inspirational Card Sketches challenge blog! You know why?! Because Lindsay is giving away 10 Stamps to the winner! Wow 10 stamps! Go check it out!

Ok, now for your freebie Thursday! If you're not a fan of the Twilight Saga, then I'm sorry, this may not interest you unless you know someone who is. But am OBSESSED. That word doesn't even begin to describe the level of devotion I have to these books! So I was thinking about them and this is what I came up with. I hope someone out there can use them. If so, PLEASE share it with me! You know I'd love to see it, since I'm so obsessed...hehe.

Monster Truck Party Hat Bday Invitations

Thanks to Lindsay at The Frugal Crafter's Weblog, I finally was able to figure out how I wanted to do my son's 3rd birthday party invites. She posted a free svg file today of a party hat card that she used to create her twin's birthday invites.
I used the freebie Monster Truck digi stamp from Dustin Pike. My son adores monster trucks! I will probably wind up making about 10 of these. I've made 5 already. I did them in under an hour this morning. The hard part is going to be nailing out the details of what I want the inside to say. I haven't picked a date or time yet. haha. I was able to fit 4 cards on one piece of cardstock! So this is a very cheap way to make invitations! I added some yellow stickles to the edge of the yellow at the bottom and top of the hat. Then I used some alpha stamps that I had laying around to put the work Party on the front. It is difficult to tell it by looking at this pic, but I also used some silver acrylic paint to paint the "chrome" parts of the truck. I wanted them to stand out separately from the tires. What do you think?

A Bonus Freebie from LSS & A New Use for Your Cricut!

Apparently our mistake makes this your lucky day! We thought we'd give out all the DT freebies, but there's still one more! So browse the DT's blogs below to find it!

This week I decided to finally use this beautiful Flourished Dragonfly stamp that I've been admiring ever since Lindsay created it. It is just stunning! I decided that I loved the black and white as is, so I just gave the dragonfly himself a little color and sparkle. He's coated in glitter and sparkle.
Don't forget to check out the links below to see who has the freebie this week!
----On to the New Use for Your Cricut!------
Do you see those stitched designs in the corners of this scrapbook LO? I did those with my circut! Don't believe me? Well this is how it works... You simply use the cricut to cut out the tiny holes just like you would any other svg. It is completely re-sizeable (just don't forget to choose "keep proportions". Then after the Cricut is finished, you have an embroidery template design and you may use a needle and some floss to fill complete the stitching. So easy a caveman could do it!
In case you'd like to try this technique I'm putting the three designs below in my store. Want to try before you buy? Check out the freebie Circle LO that I posted yesterday.
Another thing I might add, these are great to cut on on your cricut and then save for later. That way when your husband wants you to "spend time" with him, (for my husband that means watch tv w/him) you can sit and do the stitching then!

3 Flowers Template-- $3.00

This one would look great on a card! I plan to turn this one into a card when I get the time.
