A few Homemade Valentine Treats

My oldest son, Travis is 4 years old and already has a girlfriend. It was kind of arranged before birth, LOL. So we had to create a one-of-a-kind Valentine gift for her. I took a little tiny baby food jar and removed the label, cleaned it well and then decorated it a bit and filled it with red m&ms. I attached this super cute tag that I got from Hello, Good Gravy!

A new tradition that I've started with our family is making chocolate dipped pretzel rods for each holiday with color coordinating sprinkles! EVERYBODY loves these! At first I just made them for the kids at church, then I realized how much the adults loved them too, so this time I made enough for everyone! (Sorry about the terrible night time pics!)

Here are some more Hello, Good Gravy tags! Love em!

Valentine for my Hubby

I was totally stumped for what kind of card to make my husband for valentine's day. I didn't want to make a sappy one, but I'm not the best at coming up with funny cards either. Thankfully, my good friend Lindsay gave me some inspiration. She was on the ball this year. She made her card a few weeks ago and as soon as I saw it, I knew I wanted to use the same sentiments for my card (or close enough anyway). Here is her original post.

I wasn't sure if I wanted to just use a clipart of a cow or make one with my cricut, so I just set out browsing google for ideas. Then I came across this old black and white photo. Inspiration hit! To me, it looks as if this is a hot shot business man talking to some young farm boy about girls. haha. So this is what I imagined he would say to the boy: "Remember boy, don't buy the cow if you get the milk for free." haha.

Hopefully my husband will get a kick out of it! Thanks for stopping by!

I've Got the Hots for you! + Freebie!

Hey folks! I'm happy to say that I think I'm finally over the pregnancy queaziness. I have felt great today and today is the first time in a long time that I've felt like crafting just for the fun of it. So here's what I've been up to!

I had a bunch of red hots laying around here that needed to be used up, so I made these cute little Valentine treat baggies to put in my craft booth for sale. I'm going to price them at $1.00 each (b/c they were so easy to do and who doesn't like a bargain?!)
I've also included the bracket file for you to create your own. My baggies were 3"x4", so I cut the RED bracket at 3" wide and the white one at 2.75" wide. To get the sentiment on the white bracket, I measured and printed them out on plain white cardstock and then used a small piece of double stick tape to attach the bracket in place over each sentiment (hold them up in the light to make sure you have them placed just right). Then I ran the same piece of cardstock through the printer again (this time with white brackets attached) and poof! They're done. Just peel them off the cardstock, fold them in half and glue them to the red bracket. I then just used a Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher to attach them to the baggies.
Ok, now go make your own!
Here is the sentiment (all ready for you) and the svg file for the bracket.

Lindsay is sponsoring the challenge this week at Tuesday Morning Sketches, so be sure to hop over there and participate! Here is the card that I made for the challenge! I finally got around to using this really cute bingo card from Lindsay's Love Grows Here collection. I also used the cute little cherries stamp from this collection.
