Congrats on the New Nest!

Sorry this is a little wordy, I was in the mood to ramble.

Spring has sprung here folks! It got up to 76 degrees yesterday and it was gorgeous outside! I actually got a little bit of sun on my face! So I am totally in the mood for all things spring! Including spring cleaning! I spent 2 hours cleaning out my 3 year old's toys and such this morning while he was away at pre-school. This is impossible to do while he's home. He freaks out and wants to know what I'm doing with his stuff. haha. I guess you could say I'm nesting (since i'm pregnant). I went through this with my first pregnancy. At least I'm being productive!

Speaking of nesting, I just couldn't resist using this freebie sentiment from Lindsay and her cute little bird nest digi. I didn't feel much like coloring, so I decided to get creative with the stamp. I printed it first on blue cardstock, then using a method I read about in Woman's Day magazine for coloring easter eggs, I made them speckled like robin's eggs. All you do is water down some brown paint and dip a toothbrush in it. Then run your finger across the bristles to make it splatter just right. Works on paper too I guess! So then I cut out the eggs and printed the image again on textured brown cardstock. To give the nest a little more color I ran a brown colored pencil across it roughly.
Then used pop dots to attach the eggs to it.

I'm entering this card for the following challenges:
Charisma Cards -- Spring Has Sprung
Cute Card Thursday -- Dimensions
Papertake Weekly -- Easter
The Pink Elephant -- Pastels
Whimsy- Spring & Easter

Don't forget to stop by Lindsay's blog to snag a freebie and check out the work by the DT!

Sorry folks, Thursday freebie is running late this time, I promise I'll have it up soon!

  6. I love, love how you did the eggs! It got me thinking I have some brown glimmer mist and I bet that would work to! Thanks for jump starting my brain (it's like a weak battery at this point and needs recharging ha ha) Have you figured out yet if your having a boy or a girl? Glad things are going great for ya!
