My Mother's Day Card

I have been needing some inspiration to get started on my mother's day card for my mom. I finally found it! It is national scrapbooking day tomorrow and over at Crop Diva's Destination, they are celebrating starting today. Their first challenge was to use a color combination (see below). Then I saw this sketch below on Mojo Monday and it fit perfectly!

I found this cute little photo of an elephant and her mama on google, made it black and white and cut it out. Then used a sentiment that I stole from a card at walmart (hehe, no creativity). The inside says: "How else could I have turned out so great?" I know it is a funny card and sometimes you need sentimental, but this time I decided my mom needed a little pick me up, so I made it funny. She's been dealing with sick loved ones for a while now and it gets her down in the dumps, so hopefully this will brighten up her mother's day.

A Birthday Chick

Lindsay is on a roll this week folks! She's got her Easter stamp set ready to release! I took one look at this cute little chick and knew I had to use her for something! Well, I wasn't quite in the mood to start making Easter cards just yet, so I got some inspiration from another blogging friend and used her sentiment to make my own card! It's a birthday chick card!
I used this week's sketch from Mojo Monday.

A Cool Yule! -- Lindsay Stamp Stuff

This week I decided to go cool! I am in the Christmas spirit! It's amazing how fast it comes around every year! This too-cool-for-school penguin is part of Lindsay's digital stamp release for this week! She's got freebies on her blog, so don't forget to stop by! The background paper is an old Lindsay freebie. You can snag it here. If you haven't noticed (because it doesn't show up well in my photo), the sentiment and digi stamp are both set on top of Lindsay's new faux embossed mats. The thing that I love about Lindsay's stamps is that they come in both jpeg and png format. So all I had to do was layer them on top of one another and print!

I used this week's sketch from Mojo Monday.

My Get Well Card for Riley

Hello again! Two posts in one day! haha. Here is my get well card for Riley, the cancer patient who made a special request to "Make a wish foundation". She simply asked for a mailman to drop a bag full of get well cards on her bed when she returned from treatment. So her is my card! I really really enjoyed making this one. It certainly makes a difference when you know who you're going to send the card to. I definately enjoy it more that way. I wanted to make it as girly as I could.
It all started with this butterfly image that I found online. I converted it to an svg (it's tomorrows freebie Thursday). Then I was playing around with my cricut markers which I've had for quite sometime but I've neglected them. I drew the image, then used the "shadow" feature to cut around it. Then I decided it was still too plain, so I used purple stickles to fill in the space between the marker lines. I loved the end result so much better. Then finally I colored some tiny gems to make them match the pink and dressed it up a bit.
