Freezer Paper Twilight T-Shirt

So for Halloween I'm taking the easy way out this year. I didn't feel like spending a bunch of money on a costume. And you all know i'm obsessed with Twilight. So I wanted to be a vampire baseball player. I got to looking online for a tshirt kind like this one but they were all too expensive. So I suddenly remembered that I'd seen a tutorial on how to use freezer paper and the cricut to make a custom shirt. So now I'm addicted to this new way to use my Circut. I was so impressed with the way the first one came out that I'm dying to try it again. I think next I'm going to make a christmas shirt for my son.

I started by cutting a 6" circle on freezer paper. Then I ironed the negative part and painted a white circle. Then when that was dry I painted on my stitches by hand using a pencil (to sketch it) then a small paintbrush. Then I put the "Cullen" on top. The collegiate font that I used was a little tricky to iron on. I had to position the pieces just right, but the end result was way worth the effort! Next I put "Baseball" on the bottom. And last I put "Vampire across the ball. It was the hardest part. I had a hard time getting the freezer paper to stick to the painted circle. It didn't adhere perfectly in some places so I had to use a paintbrush to do some touching up. But I am so pleased with the way it turned out. I think I might make another to sell in my Etsy store.

Altered Tin Can Project w/Lindsay's Stamp Stuff

This week I was feeling extra crafty! I decided to create a pencil holder using a soup can. This soup can is taller than most, so it was perfect for pencils. I just covered it with patterned paper using Fabri-tac glue. It is intended for fabric, but works great on this type of thing. I really like it because it is flexible for a minute or so after you put the paper on it. That way I can slide things around to get them just like I want, but it has a very firm hold once it dries.

Then I used the same glue to attach this wide lace around the center. I colored one of Lindsay's newest Doodle Flower stamps, the Fabric Flower. It is only $1.00 in her store. But you can buy the whole set which includes sentiments for $5.00.
Don't forget to stop by Lindsay's blog to get your weekly freebie and to check out the other projects from the Design Team!

Now for your Thursday freebie! I created this title for my husband's Marine Corps scrapbook a few days ago. If you know someone who is in the marines, this would be great to use. The word "Ball" is separate from the Marine Corps title. So if you don't want to include that word, you can remove it.

I have also created the titles you see below and have placed them in my store. If you'd like to purchase them, they are only $1.50 each, or you can buy the whole set for $3.00.

Now for my creations!

Each hop participant was invited to look back through the past 51 Twilight Tuesday challenges and pick one or more of those challenges as their personal choice for the hop. I decided to use challenge #38- The Honeymoon. I also used the sketch from Sketch and Stash.

When I think of Edward & Bella's honeymoon, I am reminded of the feathers that were strewn about the cottage. I just think it is hilarious that a housekeeping team would have to clean that up after a honeymoon. Also I love that Bella wakes up dazed and says: "Why am I covered in feathers?". Then Edwards replies "I bit a pillow...maybe two." (See below to download sentiment)

I also created this card for the same challenge. I used a free site called Wordle to create this word cloud, which you can download for free below!

As a bonus freebie, I've got the two Twilight Clouds that I created below for you to download free! You can also download the "Why Am I covered in Feathers?" word art here. Download Twilight Honeymoon Cloud

Starting My Husband's Marine Corps Scrapbook

Hi all! Today I decided to start making my husband's Marine Corps scrapbook. I have put it off for a long time because the task seemed so daunting. Not to mention the Marine Corps album I got for him included pages that you're supposed to just add things to. So I was always kindof afraid that it would come out looking cheezy. So today I just said, who cares? I'm not using those pages and I pulled them out. I started from scratch and this is what I've come up with so far. It is going to be a surprise for him for Christmas. He's been out of the Corps for 2 years now, so it is long overdue. I can't wait to show it to him.

The First Page-- Doesn't he look so serious?! haha

This page was created using a sketch from Crafts by Rowena. I am also submitting this one for this week's Practical Scrapper's challenge, which was to use a border punch. So this challenge went perfectly with Rowena's sketch!

A Bella Wedding Card

A friend of my husband got married this past month. We were unable to make it to the wedding, but I decided to send a belated wedding gift. So here is the card that I created to go along with the gift. I used Bella and her Fella's wedding stamp. I only used the top portion of the stamp because I wanted it to be a circle so that it would qualify for the challenge at Lala Land Crafts Blog which was to use geometric shapes. I also added some bling to qualify for the challenge at Crazy 4 Challenges that required the project to have sparkle! Then finally I used the sketch at A Spoon Full of Sugar

Hoot Hoot! An Owl Birthday Card

Hello again! I'm just poppin in to show you a card that I created for a friend's birthday party! She is going to be one year old. So I created this little owl card for her. The little birthday owl is from Lime Light Papercrafts. It is called the Q.T. Hooty Owl Stamp Set. I just think she's so adorable! I tried to keep it pretty simple. The card was also created from the sketch at Scrapsketch this week.

Twilight Tuesday Challenge-- Edward

This week on the Twilight Tuesday Inspiration Challenge, we finally got to use Edward for our inspiration! He is my REASON for reading the books. He is so gorgeous, strong, selfless and kind. I am in love! I think the word that comes to mind when I think of Edward is "Comfort". I know this may seem odd, but I know exactly how Bella must feel when she is with him. Comforted. He is a strong presence in her life and completes her in everyway. With the exception of New Moon, Edward is always there for Bella. I put "Perfectly Flawed" on the card because that is the way that I would describe him. He's got many characteristics that people would consider flaws, but without him he wouldn't be so perfect.

I chose this image for the card because Edward is sitting in front of his piano. One of my favorite scenes in the movie is when he plays the piano for Bella. It is so sexy. Something about a guy like that who can play the piano so beautifully and compose music so moving is very attractive! I also used the sketch from this week's Tuesday Morning Sketches.

Hallowen Digi Stamp Cupcake Wrappers

Hello everyone! It's Thursday again! This week I decided I just wasn't in the mood to make a card, so instead I made cupcakes! Definately more calories than card making. I'll have to tell you it was very difficult not to eat the cupcake while photographing it! To make these cupcake wrappers, I simply used Lindsay's "Blank Cupcake Wrapper Template". This template is so worth it! Only $1.00 and you get a blank template, plus a birthday stamped template! Wow! This blank template is so versatile! All I had to do was layer my digi stamps on top of the template and print! Just a tip, using png files instead of jpeg makes this a lot easier! Lindsay offers both. So for these wrappers I used the following stamps: Harry the spider and the Happy Haunting sentiment from the Cute Halloween Collection, several pieces from the Creepy Crow Collection.

The first wrapper got messed up and then I changed my mind and decided to print it on orange cardstock instead. I'm really glad I made that mistake, because I like the orange so much better!

Fun at Burchett Farms

Here is another layout using a sketch from Crafts by Rowena. The thing that caught my eye about this sketch was the string tied around one of the photos. I thought that was such a cute idea! So to incorporate more string, I cut out 2 circles using my Cricut with precut holes in them for stitching. Then I just used a needle and some floss to complete the design. The font for the title is called "Too Much Paper".
These photos were taken this past summer at Burchett Farms. Mike and Debbie Burchett go to church with us and Mike and Travis are big buddies. So Mike invited us over to his farm after church one evening to "check out the tractors". He loved it! He even got to drive the big John Deere. I'm not sure who had more fun though, Mike or Travis.

Creepy Crow Card & Freebie Thursday

It's Thursday again! So you know what that means! It's time for a Lindsay's Stamp Stuff project and a freebie! This week I decided to have another go at the Creepy Crow Collection that Lindsay had created. I just love this set. It is so spooky! The whole set is only $5.00! And Lindsay is running a special this month! For every $5 you spend, you get to choose one free single stamp! Awesome deal! Also, don't forget to check out Lindsay's blog for a freebie and links to the rest of the DT's creations!

For the card, I used this sketch from Twilight Tuesday! I just love their challenges and sketches. If you're a fan of Twilight, YOU NEED to check it out! It is definately fueling my need for all things Twilight until the movie comes out! They're having a blog hop on October 27th that I'll be participating in, if you'd like to sign up, go here. Another reason that I used this stamp for a Twilight challenge is because it reminds me of the Vampire Diaries. They have had several scenes in a graveyard with crows present, so this card speaks to that as well.

Now for your freebie this week! It is this cute little stick figure couple! They're expecting! Awww... This is in honor of my husband and I who are trying to get pregnant! So wish us luck! hehe.

Blondie

Here is another layout I did using yet another sketch from Crafts by Rowena. Like I said before, I'm in a scrappin mood. Here are some more pics of me in high school. Back then I used Colorsilk blonde hair dye every so often to keep my dirty blonde roots out of sight. So I titled this one Blondie because that is what I think of when I see these pictures. Terrible bottle blonde dye and poofy bangs. I'm glad I've matured out of this style. Too bad I'm not still that skinny! And to think that back then I thought I needed to loose weight!

Seniors!

I got in the scrappin mood again late last night. Luckily it only took me about 45 minutes to whip this one out. That is the thing I love about working with sketches. I don't know if I could even create a scrapbook page without them anymore. I spend 90% of my time trying to figure out how I want the page to look instead of actually creating. So with the sketches, the guess work is taken out. I can just work to make the layout my own using the sketch. Here is my latest layout of my husband and I when we were seniors in high school. I love scrapping old pics! Brings on a lot of nostalgia. This sketch was from Crafts by Rowena. She has a free sketch every wednesday!
