Ho Ho Ho! Christmas LO in July!

I got another page done today! I was inspired yet again by one of Rowena's fab sketches! The bubble border was a freebie from Images by Heather M. I was able to use up some patterened paper scraps on this page, so that always makes me happy.  The title is made of some stickers that I got on clearance a while back. I need to use up my stash of stickers. I'm not so much into them anymore. I prefer the look of die cuts better.

Monster Jam LO

Howdy folks! It's monday and I had the mojo to do a scrapbook page. I have said many times before how much I love Rowena's sketches, and today is no exception. Hop on over to Crop Diva's Destination to find your inspiration and participate in their challenges! I love love love the title on this page! I've never done one with tags before, but I followed the sketch as closely as I could and i love how it turned out! The cute little torn notebook page was cut using SCAL and my cricut. I gave the svg file away in an earlier post, but I'll post the link again. You can get the Torn Journal Page Here.  I created the little "lighting bolt" border myself to give it some flair. 26th MEU -- Marine Corps Scrapbook

Well my husband dozed off early on the couch tonight, so I was able to squeeze another layout in. Since Christmas is fast approaching, I have to seize every moment I can to work on this.


thanks to another great sketch from Crafts by Rowena, this one was quick and simple. I did it in under 30 minutes flat! And I was stopping to watch SNL (Taylor Lautner was on!) in between. So I guess you could say I did this one between commercials. haha. I got the cool Bingo card from Lindsay. I just altered it in inkscape to make it say 26th MEU instead of bingo. the brackets I cut with my cricut. If you'd like the file, they are here.

The Desert -- Marine Corps Scrapbook

I snuck in my craft room to complete another layout today. My husband was at home but outside cleaning out the gutters, so I had to be sneaky to get this one done. It's pretty simple, but I love it anyways. These pictures were taken while my hubby was on the 26th MEU over in Saudi Arabia. He went on a desert safari while he was there.


Of course, the fabulous sketch came from Crafts by Rowena. I just loved the little journalling tear out. So I created one just like it to cut with my cricut. If you'd like the file, it's free. You can download it here. If you're wondering how I got the journalling printed directly on it, I printed it on white copy paper first, then I used double stick tape to line it up over the one printed on copy paper. I taped it down, and ran it though the printer again. The cute little ticket was a part of the kit that I won from 52 sketches.

24 Hours on Duty - Marine Corps Scrapbook

Yet another page for my hubby's Marine Corps scrapbook. I took these pics of him one night when I went up to his squadron to visit. He was having to work a 24 hour duty shift. He was exhausted, so I went to keep him company for a while. He worked several of these, one a month I think, but this is the only time I every photographed him on duty. So this one page is a tribute to all of those times he had to stand post on his own.

Parris Island - Marine Corps Scrapbook

I finished another page today! I'm on a roll! I'm trying to hurry up at get this album finished so I can get a start on the other two or three that I have setting around for family members. This one is a surprise Christmas gift for my hubby. It is long overdue!


This was made using another fabulous sketch from Crafts by Rowena. I didn't follow it as closely as I do some sketches, and this frustrates me, but sometimes you just have to make due. The chicken wire is a free svg file that I got from somewhere, but I'm sorry I don't remember where. If you recognize it let me know so I can give them credit! It cut beautifully!

Boot Camp - Marine Corps Scrapbook

Finished another page today! I'm just squeezing them in right and left lately. This one is just pictures of my hubby on his graduation day packing up his stuff.

I also thought I'd share with you the most cheesy card I've ever made (on purpose that is). This is the card that I gave my hubby for our 5 year anniversary. I didn't feel like doing anything "mushy" this year, so I remembered this free svg that I got from Mamaw's Legacy. I thought it was hilarious and I've just been waiting for the right moment to make it. I did do one thing differently though, I gave them cutesy eyes. That was not included in the svg from Mamaw.

Here is the little poem that I made up on the fly to go inside. Whatdya think? Haha I know what you're thinking, I should keep my day job. haha but I'm a SAHM. hehe.

Boot Camp Graduation -- Marine Corps Scrapbook

Wow it's been a while since I worked on my husband's scrapbook. I've been so busy with my craft booth that I've put scrapping aside, but I'm finally back in the swing of things. Here is the latest page!



I used yet another fabulous sketch from Crafts by Rowena. She is the one that gave me the idea to put the stars where the flowers are. When I first looked at this sketch I was thinking what am I going to do with this? Then I read her tips below the sketch and inspiration took over! Thanks Rowena!

It's 11:30pm my time and I've finally completed my last layout of the day. I am so tired my eyes are filling with sand as I type. Anyways, yet another fabulous sketch from Crafts by Rowena. Not much to say about this one. I love the paper. It was from a paper pack that someone gave me for christmas last year and I love every piece!

Devil Dogs -- Marine Corps Scrapbook

I'm on a roll! I am totally in the mood to scrap! These pictures are some of my favorite pics! I love the pic of Michael and Joe sitting together. They were barracks roommates and this was the first time I met Joe. They participated in a wheelbarrow race together. It was pretty comical! Once again I used a sketch from Crafts by Rowena.

Packing Up --- Marine Corps Scrapbook

Well I'm slowly but surely making progress on my husband's scrapbook. I am loving doing these "manly" pages. I usually don't get to do things that are rustic and earth tone like this. I had this barbed wire svg from a long time ago. I can't remember where I got it from, I apologize. If anyone knows where, please leave me a comment. I forgot all about it and I was looking for a border and then boom there it was! It was perfect for this page! The font in the title is called Bosshole (weird name..haha). The little marine man in the corner is a sticker. I've been compiling military stickers and scrapbook supplies for quite a while now in anticipation of doing this scrapbook. I'm so glad I did, b/c I would hate to have gotten started on all of this and find out I'm unprepared because all I have to work with are flowers...hahaha.


Once again I used a sketch from Crafts by Rowena. This is an old one from a few months back. I just altered the photo arrangement a bit.

Starting My Husband's Marine Corps Scrapbook

Hi all! Today I decided to start making my husband's Marine Corps scrapbook. I have put it off for a long time because the task seemed so daunting. Not to mention the Marine Corps album I got for him included pages that you're supposed to just add things to. So I was always kindof afraid that it would come out looking cheezy. So today I just said, who cares? I'm not using those pages and I pulled them out. I started from scratch and this is what I've come up with so far. It is going to be a surprise for him for Christmas. He's been out of the Corps for 2 years now, so it is long overdue. I can't wait to show it to him.

This page was created using a sketch from Crafts by Rowena. I am also submitting this one for this week's Practical Scrapper's challenge, which was to use a border punch. So this challenge went perfectly with Rowena's sketch!

Fun at Burchett Farms

Here is another layout using a sketch from Crafts by Rowena. The thing that caught my eye about this sketch was the string tied around one of the photos. I thought that was such a cute idea! So to incorporate more string, I cut out 2 circles using my Cricut with precut holes in them for stitching. Then I just used a needle and some floss to complete the design. The font for the title is called "Too Much Paper".
These photos were taken this past summer at Burchett Farms. Mike and Debbie Burchett go to church with us and Mike and Travis are big buddies. So Mike invited us over to his farm after church one evening to "check out the tractors". He loved it! He even got to drive the big John Deere. I'm not sure who had more fun though, Mike or Travis.

Blondie

Here is another layout I did using yet another sketch from Crafts by Rowena. Like I said before, I'm in a scrappin mood. Here are some more pics of me in high school. Back then I used Colorsilk blonde hair dye every so often to keep my dirty blonde roots out of sight. So I titled this one Blondie because that is what I think of when I see these pictures. Terrible bottle blonde dye and poofy bangs. I'm glad I've matured out of this style. Too bad I'm not still that skinny! And to think that back then I thought I needed to loose weight!

Seniors!

I got in the scrappin mood again late last night. Luckily it only took me about 45 minutes to whip this one out. That is the thing I love about working with sketches. I don't know if I could even create a scrapbook page without them anymore. I spend 90% of my time trying to figure out how I want the page to look instead of actually creating. So with the sketches, the guess work is taken out. I can just work to make the layout my own using the sketch. Here is my latest layout of my husband and I when we were seniors in high school. I love scrapping old pics! Brings on a lot of nostalgia. This sketch was from Crafts by Rowena. She has a free sketch every wednesday!

Key to My Heart Layout

Hey there everyone! I know you're probably wondering what happened to me this week! I have been substitute teaching everyday since last wednesday, so I have been much busier than usual, not to mention I'm getting ready for my son's 3rd bday party this weekend. Anyways, I didn't get time to create a project for Lindsay's Stamp Stuff this week. But today I was finally able to do a little scrappin'. So I used this lovely sketch from Crafts by Rowena. If you haven't checked her blog out yet, you need to! I it is full of wonderful tutorials, sketches and free svg files! I created the title in inkscape. You can download it here.

You can find the files to download these keys on a previous post of mine, here. I cut the key ring by hand, but the keys were cut with scal.

Now for your Thursday freebie! I created these for my SIL to go on her bulletin board at church. She did a bulletin board display of the days of creation. I also did Adam & Eve, but I'll probably share those later, because I have some "tweaking" to do on them. Enjoy!

Hey there everyone!
So I'm sorry I'm a bit behind getting your freebie Thursday posted. I hope you enjoy it! I know it is a little out of season for Prom, but if you're like me you stay behind scrapping your pics. These pic were actually taken in 2002. It was my senior prom. Yes that's me and my hubby before we were married, we were high school sweethearts. (ok take a sec and say "awww") haha. You can't see it, but the journalling says that the song we walked out to at the prom was "I could not ask for more" by Sara Evans (the first song on my blog playlist).

I used this week's sketch from Crafts by Rowena. I just love her sketches. I am always inspired to create by them. I think it is because they aren't too over complicated like some seem to be sometimes.

That loopy border at the bottom of the LO is a freebie from Paolo. I just took a square in SCAL and welded my border to the bottom. So easy!

Look Who's Two

Here is a page that I did using Rowena's Wednesday Sketch. My son's 3rd birthday is coming up in just a month, so I thought I better go ahead and scrap his 2nd birthday. I guess better late than never. The font I used for the title and journaling is a freebie called "I wish I were taller. You can find it here along with other fabulously free scrapbooking fonts! Once again those cute chipboard embellies were all for just a $1.00 at the Dollar Tree. I love that place. That isn't even all of them. I still have some left over!

Here is a LO I did using a sketch from Crafting by Rowena. I have been dying to do some scrapping of Christmas photos ever since I bought this vintage Christmas paper. Ijust love it! Too bad you can't see a whole lot of it on this page though. :(
