5 More Cards Done Today

Apparently I've gone Copic crazy. I can't get enough! At night I color while watching my shows on the DVR and in the afternoons I make cards out of them while my son is napping. I got 5 of them done today! BTW, I used only scraps on these as well!

This was was created using a freebie from Whimsy Stamps and a sketch from Eat Sleep Stamp. I used the Copic Colors: BV02, BV04, BV11, BV13, BV20, G00, B02

This was created using a Dustin Pike digi and a sketch from A Gem of a Challenge. I used the Copic colors: E29, E57, B000, BG45, C1,C3, C7, Y28, Y32, Y35, Y38, E11.

This was a digi freebie from Meljen and a sketch from Friends Having Fun Sketch Challenge. I used the Copic colors: G24, YG03, R20, E29, R27, R59.

I used the sketch from Drunken Stampers and an old digi freebie from Bugaboo. I used the Copic colors: E27, C3, W5, E18, E00, E11, W1, W3, W5, R32, R24, R27, RV93.

This one has a cute digi monkey from Dustin Pike and uses the sketch from InStyle Stamps. I used Copic colors: E18, E37, E57, R20, RV14, R27, E11, Y32, Y35, R22.

Lil' Notebooks & Lil' Monsters Freebie!

Here are some little notebooks that I made yesterday. I used a digi from Dustin Pike for the hand holding the pencil. I just used decoupage to adhere the paper to the notebooks. I got them 4/$1.97 at wal-mart!

Here are some birthday cards that I created to sell in a local gift shop. They are all digi images from Dustin Pike. I used the sketch below from Inspirational Card Sketches.

A Girly Dragon Birthday Card

The challenge this week at the Doodle Dragon Challenge Blog was to make a girly dragon card. So I decided to use this cute little birthday dragon from Dustin Pike's collection. I decided to use the sketch at Papertake Weekly Challenges this week. Also, Charisma Cards had a birthday challenge this week that required a candle to be somewhere on the card!

Handmade Christmas Ornaments

Here are some handmade ornaments that I finished last night. I got the ornaments themselves from HL for about .50 cents each on sale. They are made of corragated cardboard and are hollow. I started by painting each one with red acrylic paint. It dries quickly and only requires one coat on these. Then I printed my images and colored them with my Bic Mark Its. I cut them out and then applied "Triple Thick" (Diamond Glaze) to the back of the image then pressed it firmly down onto the ornament. Then I applied a generous top coat of glaze over the entire ornament to give it a shine. Very easy to do and fun! The first one is a cube that has various snowman images from Dustin Pike on it. I'll be hanging this one on my tree.

This one is a disk shaped ornament. I used one of Dustin's santa images on it. It will be hanging in the center of a wreath that is going on my grandfather's door at the nursing home he lives in.

Candy Cane Treat Holders & Hot Cocoa Slider Cards

My mojo is flowin' this week! I am having so much fun creating things for my craft booth. I usually don't create these kinds of things because I didn't know what to do with them after I make them. So I'm finally creating everything that I've been admiring on other people's blogs for so long. Here are some candy cane treat holders that I created tonight. I made 12 of them. I never realized how cheap candy canes are! I got a pack of 12 for 88 cents at wal-mart. You can't beat that! I love the cherry flavored ones the best. I got the inspiration for these from Dawn's Stamping Thoughts. She has a tutorial on her blog here. She acutally did them for Easter and put twizzlers in them.
The bear holding the candy cane is a digital stamp from Dustin Pike. The Minnie Mouse and Puppy were images I pulled from Google. I've got them priced at just $1.00 each!

Of course I created some more bookmarks to go in my Twilight section. I am totally a Team Edward fan all the way, but I went ahead and created a few "Werewolf" ones as well, because I know you Jacob fans are out there. haha. The wolf is a digi stamp from Artful Inkables. They will be $1.50 each.

These are some Hot Cocoa slider cards that I made for the craft booth also. The image is another digital stamp from Dustin Pike. I love how the snowman is floating in the cocoa. Kinda ironic. haha. These were super easy to make. I got the idea from a tutorial of The Pink Stamper. I've been using a lot of white cardstock to make these because I just have sooooo much of it. You know those sheets you pull out of your scrapbook albums when you buy them. I keep all of those and I'm finally using them!

Monster Truck Birthday Party

Hello everyone! I thought I'd pop in to share my son's birthday party pics. We had a great time. The party was supposed to be outside at the park, but due to weather, we had to move it indoors. The monster truck design is from a Dustin Pike digi stamp freebie. I colored it and printed it really large. Then I took the picture to wal-mart and had them draw it on the cake. I think it turned out really cute! I also created the banner that you see below. If you didn't get to see the matching invitations, you can go here to see them in a previous post.

You've Gotta Try this! It's a Spinner Card!

Hey everyone! I just had to share this awesome technique with you. It may or may not be "new" to you, but it was new to me and I was so pleased with the results! It was so easy too! There are several alternatives and ways that this can be done, but here is my version. I wish I had video capabilities right now to show you the spinning in action, but this will have to do.

First, I used some very heavy cardstock to cut the wavy spinning panel with my cricut. You can download the template here. The spinning action is created using two pennies and a pop dot! (Not a difficult as you'd think). If you'd like a straight spinner, simply cut a long narrow rectangle inside a larger rectangle using scal. It's very simple. The bottom border for this card is a fall leaves border, you can go to this previous post to download it. The cute little pumpkin nad Happy Halloween title are digi stamps from Dustin Pike.

Halloween Card Using Dustin Pike's SVG Freebie

Sorry for the less than stellar photos. My camera is about to give up on me. I'm planning to get a new one around Christmas time. So just bare with me! Here is a card I made using the Pumpkin freebie svg that I got from Dustin Pike. I think he turned out so cute!
I made this card using this week's sketch from Sketch and Stash.

I also participated in the La-La Land Crafts Challenge this week, which was to simply "embellish" your card. so I added this cute little flower that I made! Then the Charisma Cardz Challenge this week was "flower power". So it fit just right with the sketch and other challenges! I also did the Papertake Weekly Challenge which was to "fake-it". It said you could use fake stitching, flowers, ribbon or whatever. Well I do that nearly everytime I make a card. So the fake part of this one is the flower!

Dustin Pike goes SCAL!

Hey everyone! I just had to try this out! Dustin Pike has a freebie svg file posted on his blog of a cute little pumpkin that he doodled and has converted it to an svg! I could not wait to cut it. So here is a pic of what it looks like cut out! So easy to cut too! Came out perfect. I just used a white pen to add some life to the eyes. I also used a black pen to define a few of the black lines on the cheeks.

I think I may make a card out of him sooner or later, but right now it is getting late. So I'll do it another time!

Scrap & Stamp Challenge

Here is a LO I did for this week's Scrap & Stamp challenge. This is the first time I've ever participated in their challenges. But for some reason I've been in the scrapping mood this week and I'd run out of sketches to use, so I went looking for some new inspiration! The pine trees and camp sign are digi stamps from Dustin Pike.

Monster Truck Party Hat Bday Invitations

Thanks to Lindsay at The Frugal Crafter's Weblog, I finally was able to figure out how I wanted to do my son's 3rd birthday party invites. She posted a free svg file today of a party hat card that she used to create her twin's birthday invites.
I used the freebie Monster Truck digi stamp from Dustin Pike. My son adores monster trucks! I will probably wind up making about 10 of these. I've made 5 already. I did them in under an hour this morning. The hard part is going to be nailing out the details of what I want the inside to say. I haven't picked a date or time yet. haha. I was able to fit 4 cards on one piece of cardstock! So this is a very cheap way to make invitations! I added some yellow stickles to the edge of the yellow at the bottom and top of the hat. Then I used some alpha stamps that I had laying around to put the work Party on the front. It is difficult to tell it by looking at this pic, but I also used some silver acrylic paint to paint the "chrome" parts of the truck. I wanted them to stand out separately from the tires. What do you think?

Here is a card I made using one of Dustin's digi stamps. I love this one! The bear looks so offended. It's hilarious. I colored it using my Bic Mark Its. The font on the sentiment is called Funky Fun.

Masculine Fisherman Birthday Card

Here is a card that I created for my dad's birthday. He doesn't look as old as this guy does, but I thought it would be funny to give it to him anyways. I love the white t-shirt. It seems like old guys always wear white shirts with everything. I know my grandfather does. I created another word art image to go with this card. You can download it here.

The digital stamp is another image from Dustin Pike. I used a lighter to burn the edges to give it a rough look. Then I used some Tim Holtz distressing ink to rough up the card and sentiment a bit. This was also part of the challenge this week at Dare U 2 Digi Stamp.

A Hoppin' Card for Frog Lovers!

Here is a cute little froggie card that I made today. I just love hot pink and lime green together. I It gave this cute little frog a somewhat girlie look! The frog image is a digital stamp from Doodle Dragon Studios, designed by Dustin Pike. I created the cutsie little word art to go with the card using Ma Sexy Font. You can download the word art to create your own card here.

I used some bling and glitter on this card as well. That was the challenge for this week at Digital Tuesday.

Anniversary Cards!

Ok so I went a bit overboard for this challenge, but I had a lot of fun! Here is the sketch for this week's Dare U 2 Digi Stamp challenge.
They were all made using My Mind's Eye Card bases.

This one has Anya & Ian from the Greeting Farm. The inside says "after all these years. Happy Anniversary!"

This is a digi from Dusin Pike. The inside says: "Thank you for 'bear'ing with me all these years! Happy Anniversary".

This is another Anya & Ian stamp from the Greeting Farm. The inside says: "for many years more. Happy Anniversary".

Do Not Meddle in Affairs with Dragons...

Here is a card I made for my friend Megan's birthday. It's not until September, but I saw this same sentiment on a card on someone's blog (forgive me, I forget who) and I just had to use it for her card! She has a quirky sense of humor, just like me. I used a grouchy looking dragon from Dustin Pike. I say grouchy, bc he doesn't really look all that dangerous to me, he just looks like he's trying to scare you. LOL. I know some men like that. The card base is by My Mind's Eye. I used lots of brown chalk to make it look dirty or burnt. The only thing I acutally did burn is the brown cardstock on the front and inside of the card. Like I've said before, I'm a bit of a pyromaniac like my hubby, so I had fun making this card. The heat also makes the cardstock bow out a bit so it looks more 3D.

I should mention as well, I figured out a little trick on my own today for how to attach this ribbon to the card. As you can see the ribbon disappears on the left side of the card. I used my Exacto blade to cut a slit in the fold of the card. That way I had no loose ends, I could slide it inside and hide it. And you can see below how it comes inside and I've tucked it under the cardstock.

Crazy Monkey 1 Year Old Bday Card

Hi there! Hope you're having a wonderful Tuesday! I just thought I'd share with you a card that I made a week or so ago for someone who requested a custom card on Ebay. It features a crazy monkey created by Dustin Pike. It is for a child turning 1 year old! I just love all of the bright colors on the card! The card base is by My Mind's Eye. The #1 was cut using the Plantin Schoolbook Cartridge on my Circut. I used a little ribbon to tie around it to give it some personality. The inside says: "Every year you grow, you'll just become more fun to know!".
